Reflecting on 2019

Wow, nearly then end of a decade and although its not the new year yet it really feels like this moment heralds a new beginning and signals a crossing over of sorts.

I’m writing this the night before election day here in the UK, there’s a full moon, i’m full of a cold (most unusual for me) and I can’t sleep. It feels like we are on the edge, the cusp of something, something altogether different. Whether our political leadership shifts or not there will undoubtedly be changes ahead and some pretty drastic ones if we are finally to wake up to our responsibility in this time of environmental crisis.

I’m actually full of hope. I know as individuals, as an entrepreneurial community and as a people we have what it takes to make something meaningful of this new decade.

The key to success is in our humanity. Our immense capacity for compassion, joy, purpose and generosity. We will thrive through community, connection and deeper meaning. We will remember who we really are and wake up to our inter-dependence on the natural world to survive and thrive.

Before the votes are counted, before we look to what we have planned for 2020 and this new chapter begins, I invite you once again to look back with me. Let’s reflect on what this year has meant, let’s take the learning before we move on and say farewell to 2019 with gratitude for the journey.
